Repeatedly Blowing A Fuse

So I have a Dual headunit and the 10 amp fuse or whatever blew after hitting a rather rough bump driving (Koni yellows/IPD springs). I went to replace it, and as soon as I put a new fuse in it blew. So I disconnected all the power, replaced the fuse, and plugged it back in. It blew. Disconnected battery, replaced, it blew. It only blows with the larger of the two connections, so I'm assuming that I have an exposed wire of some sort...or a speaker wire has grounded. What is the best way to get to these wires or is there any other possible solution to this? Thanks in advance!

go through the channels and make sure they're not grounded. Don't start pulling door cards just to check though -- use a multimeter. check 12V lines to ground.

If you're blowing fuses like that, you're shorting something. Don't just keep putting in new fuses without finding the problem.

One connector has the power connections for the HU and the other has the speaker connections.

The speaker side of the adapter harness has the white, gray, green and violet wires.

( There's a jumper to the power connector for the dash tweeters using the white and gray,

but don't sweat that right now. It's just to tie the dash tweeters into the front door speakers ).

If you want to find out if it's the HU or speaker wiring, just unplug the speaker connector.

If you keep blowing through fuses with the speakers disconnected, then ya know it's the deck.

Didn't just keep putting the fuse back in, I did with different set ups to isolate the problem.

Will look into this tomorrow when I get off work. For now I'm listening to Pandora radio on the Droid laugh.gif
