harleyhv
Car: 2001 V7 2.4T I completed the ETM cleanup process as per procedure bellow: http://www.scribd.co...-hard-to-remove The cleanup process went relatively well The only thing that I was not able to do was unplug the ETM... I have attached some pic of before / after I put everything back... hookup the battery... start the car... the car does not iddle by itself.. I need to leave my foot on the gas to make it run... It seems that there is no boost... vaccum... If I leave the gas... the car stall... Is it the fact that I was unable to unhook the ETM? the ETM does not close completely when left by itself. (see pics)... normal? I hope it must be something stupid... usually the case HELP!
harleyhv
Houston the problem has been resolved... It seems that it is essential to unplug the ETM in the cleanup process.... I just did unhook it (after unhooking the battery) and hook it back up et voiolà the car is running like a charm... for now... So this may be usefull for another "newbie" in car maintenance... Emiel
Sure you put it back the right way? If you turned your ETM 180 degrees it won't idle.

harleyhv
No prob. We probably posted at the same time. Went for a drive, everything seems ok. Transmission may have to relearn but it's a small thing (I unhook the battery and got the positive cable to connect to the negative cable to reset everything. I think that I resets the transmission with this process....)
