Jeph430
I'd like to run the power up to a distribution block, but don't know if I require a fused one or not. http://www.crutchfie...ion+block&ssi=0 or this fused one http://www.crutchfie...ion+block&ssi=0 Any suggestions? As long as you've got the feed to the block fused at the battery, and all the stuff you connect to the block from there has it's own fuse, you're good to go. I went with the non-fused one, so should I stick an inline fuse in the cable then? What size should I be going with? Sorry, not very good when it comes to electrical stuff... Sorry, not very good when it comes to electrical stuff... You always want your hot wire fused somewhere between the source and the device using it. If you hook up something to the dist block and it does not have it's own fuse, then you would have a potential for failure. You should run either a fuse or breaker. Breakers can be troublesome if you get a junk one or have a lot of vibration like in an off-road vehicle. I would use at least 2 gauge cable. For my car, instead of running a huge cable to the back, I ran a smaller pair of cables. This is acceptable and easier than trying to hide a 0 gauge hump in the carpet.
