Prefer low miles and/or well taken care of transmission. Would consider a manual swap if you have all the parts for this and can give some advise on the work. Prefer not to have to pay shipping, so someone fairly close to Knoxville, TN- and I'll go and pick up. Thanks in advance. This is for my son's car and need to get the transmission replaced ASAP so he can drive to school and to work without depending on his parents or having to get another car. MadeInJapan Posted July 22, 2010 Author Report Share Posted July 22, 2010 So I had a manual '94 850 lined up to do a swap but while we were considering options, the guy sold the wrecked manaul. Back to square one. My mechanic who rebuilt my S70 engine thinks he can rebuild the auto transmission in the 850 (he's rebuilt others but never the AW 50-42). What do those on this board think? Is this worth a try or is it best to by-pass this option and go straight for another, already sound transmission? Btw, I still need one if this is the route we go. Thanks for any responders!
