Old Volvo Decals

You can order this euro marker light from IPD as everyone knows, goes on easy and looks great! But what in the world do you do with the old Volvo emblems? Man, I can't just throw them away, and they're too cool to collect dust too, so...this is what I did.

I first dremeled the back part of the decal, the part that suck into the car, and made sure it was ground down to where it's just a nice flat peice. Next, I sat around for a couple a weeks trying to figure out what in the world I should do with them.

So I'm driving down the road and saw this Lexus with a decal on the bottom molding underneath the rear passenger door, in front of the rear fender well, and I said to myself "Man, that looks tight." The next thing I did was get some 3M adhesive (which I had from my other car (which you can pick up from any auto shop place)), and stuck them down on the molding under the doors, near the rear fender, well centered. Put some tape over them so that they dry in place. And then I then said to myself "Man...that really does look tight!", well, after it all dried and the tape was off of course.

Just an idea! Once again, I don't have any picks...yet. Santa might get me a digital camara.

PEACE!

Yea i would like pics of the install including how you sanding down the back of the emblem to make it smooth.  :P

All that it involves is the plate with the place that holds it to the body ===> _____|_|______

and then you take a dremel with a cutting blade.

*cue hallelujah chorus*

Mmm hmm...

And then you cut it off and maybe sand it a tad so she looks like this ______________

Picssss!!!!!!!!!!

Kidding man, I'm sure that it looks good.  Is this located inbetween the door or is it outside of the door?

Picssss! Sorry, sometimes my fingers work faster than my brain. SHEESH!!! If I wanted my spelling corrected, I would have stayed in English class!!!

Okay, look at your car from the side. There is some molding down below on the wheel base, you know, between the fender wells underneath the doors. I placed the emblems on that, well centered up and down, but back near the rear fender, off by 1.5 inches.

Man, I wish I had Picssss for you, it would be so much easier on all of us!

:D PEACE!

No worries, I'm not an English major either.

I now understand where you want them. Thanks!
