s60wot
I recently received a recall notice from Volvo about problems with the fuel pump leaking under certain conditions. Has anyone taken their car in for this issue and what did they say/do? My car has developed a very strong gas smell on shut down but I can't locate any type of leak or source. BTW, my fuel economy is good averaging 27.2 mpg running greens, r mani and BSR stage III. I checked fuel pressure at the fuel rail and it's about 60 psi. jda2000
The recalled fuel pump neck is prone to cracks, thus the smell of gas inside the cabin, specially with a full tank. If you have the recall letter from Volvo already, set up an appointment with the dealer for the free replacement. If you don't have the letter, call VOLVO customer service and explain your situation. They will update their records and your car (by VIN number will) show as requiring the recall. Now call the dealer and set up the appointment. When the dealer puts your VIN in the computer it'll show as qualifying for the free replacement.
