Brick Ross
Hello, I just finished changing the hg on a 07 v70 2.5t and when I turn it over it sounds like it has no compression. Im thinking the cam timing is just off. I see there are three different sets of numbers/letters on each gear but idk which one represents tdc and also what are you supposed to line them up with? I dont see any clear indicator on the timing cover or cam cover. Also this car has VVT and the cam gears have a certain amount of play to each side whats the proper way to set them just right in the middle of their range of movement? Thanks in advance. Brick Ross
I lined them up by the marks on the back of the gear. Is that right? What are the small marks on the front for?
Ihatespeedbumps
To properly align the cams and set the VVT you would have had to lock the camshafts from the rear during installation, did you do that?
Brick Ross
I just borrowed the tool today from one of my volvo mechanic friends. I'll give it a try and let you know what happens, thanks.
