64pvolvo1800
Well, I turned in my Vbus for a checkup at 43,500 before the factory warranty runs out at 50k. Turns out the clicking and occasional squeal on hard accel is the turbo failing. They should have it ready to go tomorrow. The other thing I have them trying to push through is the headlight covers are "fogging" or "discoloring" and look like ass. Anybody else experience this with an 01+ ? They gave me a 2010 S40 T5 in the meantime. I suppose if you're used to a Honda or Toyota it's fine, but not my cup-o-tea!
Ihatespeedbumps
Headlights fogging was an 05+ issue, they were very susceptible to oxidation. Replacement will be up to the dealer, but it usually helps if you purchased the vehicle from that dealer and you do services there ;)

I bought the car 100 miles away from the Macon Volvo dealer and its a CPO car too. I went ahead and paid to let this dealer do the brake fluid flush just to give them some of my money in addition to the warranty on the turbo. Hoping this is enought incentive for themt o push it through. Is there a next higher contact up the food chain that I could talk to if they say no? jda2000
I don't believe they are going to replace them. All newer cars '02 and newer with the plastic cover headlights suffer from the clouding issue, especially if you live in a sunny state. My '02 530 BMW suffer had the problem and CPO warranty would not cover it. There are outfits that do this and come to your home/office and polish the plastic to like new for about $80-$100. Keaton85
Turbo failure at 44K? What do these have for turbos anyway? Seems really strange...

Do you just talk out of your ass about things you don't know? How do you know they won't replace the headlights under warranty? I replaced many for oxidation when I worked at a dealer, again it depends on the dealer and the history of the car. 01-04 V70's had glass lenses, they got plastic lenses on the newer style headlights 05+ Turbo failure at 44K? Turbo failure at that mileage would be increadibly strange, but I wouldn't ask questions if they want to do it They use the same TD04 series turbos found on many other models. Yes, very odd, but if it's free then great! Ive only heard of two TD04s on these cars having issues and that was Justins snapped shaft and a dealership up my way had the same snapped shaft. I thought it was odd too, but I know I was hearing something ticking and occasionally squeal on start up and even on hard accel. It seems to go away hot but it was clearly boost related and if this fixes it...proof is in the pudding. I bought the car with 30,250 and in 4 months I've put on 13k+. Get it back monday most likely and we'll see what it sounds like.
