sasjzl
Hi all, Color me flummoxed. I have been trying so hard to get the steering right on my 1996 960. Just bought it as a project and it is harder to steer left than right. It throbs (for lack of a better word) on a long left curve such as you would find on an off ramp. I have replaced the power steering pump and the steering rack and the outer tie rods. I have bled the system. I have the same issue. Though maybe to a lesser degree. I have not had a chance to try it out on an off ramp which is the ultimate test. There is no question that it is harder to turn left than right. I can easily live with the harder left than right but not the throbbing deal. That does not feel very safe. I do not know, obviously, what this problem could be outside of the pump or the rack. Has anyone out there experience the same symptoms and dealt with it by something other than the above remove and replace op? Thanks very much, Jim Lee 1996
