RE: the amp, you actually don't need the "matching" amp, you can use any Volvo amp including the 4x40W unit that came in some 850's (including the R's) or the 4x50W unit that came stock on the 70 R's/SEs with the premium sound option. Or you can go with an aftermarket amp of your choice so long as you use the wiring harness adapters, there's a guy on EBay who sells them iirc.

I agree with Mecay that the Dolby unit would be a helpful add on, even if you aren't going all the way and putting in a center-speaker dash pad. If you can find one, I'd definitely do this - while many on here will say it's not worth it, I can tell a noticeable difference since I've added the third speaker. In addition to serving as the amplifier for the center channel speaker, the Dolby unit also allows you to utilize the 901's pre-set equalization curves (although you may be able to use those without it). The Dolby Pro Logic sound mode on the 901 is quite good, and ranks up there in the best stock audio setups that I've heard. Sounds almost as good as the Mark Levenson setups used by Lexus for a fraction of the cost in my opinion.

Do you have your amp/901 lined up already?

Thanks for the details! I don't have anything right now. Do you have a lead on these?

Info is good, though the center channel amp is in the 901 itself. Take one apart and you will see it.
