swedishiron
http://indashpc.org/new/usb_adapters/grom-usb2-vol94.html this looks promising - play music straight from a USB key on my SC-901 ? (My Saffron C70 project is back on again for the time being) Has anyone bought one their adapters yet ? Any feedback if so ?
mkc70
Ordered a small batch of the USB adapters. Should have them by the end of the week. They and another company offer this feature. Will try one those sometime as well.
DARKSIDE
this is interesting...it seems like a good option for those wanting additional functionality from their stock HU...

HPsyndicate
Got one, tried it... couldn't get it to work. Never got clear answer on how to setup the directory structure so it would play via the HU controls. Ipod input had bad static, only thing that did work really well was the 3.5mm stereo jack. Let me know if you have better luck!

Just use a recessed female port and put it on the face of the 901, without the cd drive removed you have room for all the connections. Still waiting on my order though. Surprised you did not get tech support, though they are located on the west coast.
mkc70
Just got my order, excited to swap out the Spec one and see if the flash music works well or if it's junk.

Units are pretty slick, will do my car later tonight. Update: My SC-901 does not recognize the adapter. Called and said they do not offer tech support over the phone, only IM or email. Talked to my sales rep and she said they do offer tech support over the phone. Calling tomorrow when I have the time. If they don't just gonna send the units back if this how they do business. If they don't just gonna send the units back if this how they do business. Unit was programmed for Volvo firmware and not MBus protocol. Updated with a flash drive and the unit was recognized. Initial thoughts are this is on par with the USASpec, Blitzsafe, etc... for iPod. Still figuring out how the 901 buttons navigate through the iPod menu, or just hit preset 2 for direct control. USB drive worked with a 2GB flash drive that came with the unit, unsure on the controls on that one as well. Will try a hard drive some time, but it does work with the SC-901. Leaving my opinion open till I see how well it works day to day.
