Brad850
Alright so I've found every thread/how-to for removing the alternator and they still aren't helping. Everything seems to be pretty straightforward except I can't get the last bolt off. There's one bolt that is holding the alternator and bracket on. It's on the bottom of the alternator back towards the engine and you can't even see it. Is there a special trick to get to this bolt like going at it from under the car or using a special tool? Nothing I have fits back there and I've tried everything I can. If I can't get this one bolt off I feel like its going to be even harder to put it back on. If anyone could give me any advice that would be great. -Brad
FCP Euro
Not sure the best way to get it out but I would think attaching it from under that car would probably be easiest.

lcc014
or next time just replace the voltage reg. from the side without removing anything... done! Do you mean that we just replace the voltage regulator whenever there is a alternator problem ? Alright so I've found every thread/how-to for removing the alternator and they still aren't helping. You could spray some PB Blaster onto the bolt first.
Keaton85
Do you mean that we just replace the voltage regulator whenever there is a alternator problem ? It's a PM alternator so the only things that can go bad are the brushes on the voltage reg. or the voltage reg itself. The bearings can go bad but not likely on these. So yes that is what I mean. Brad850
I just removed it from the top with my long 1/2 inches ratchet, no special tool is needed. You could spray some PB Blaster onto the bolt first. The problem with me is that I can't even get to the bolt. The space is way to tight for any tool that I have. Is the bracket supposed to come off before the alternator? Thanks guys.
