czar
........torch always does the trick. ^^^this! Come on...they have a torch....and if they don't. It is on purpose I'll be damned if I would spend another $300 (and that is pretty conservative..imo) plus dollars for what Firestone should have done in the first place. Take it back to them and tell them to earn the $150 dollars he already gave them
erikv11
actually, if you look at the computer screen or even the spec sheet, if it is in red, they are out of spec... and IIRC -0.29 is totally out gotcha I read the range wrong at the bottom of the last printout, says -0.25 and the range goes to +0.25, not to -0.25. and I didn't look at the individual wheels at all - my bad. I agree about the heat. Put lots of PBblaster on it over the next couple days, let it really soak, then take it back and ask them to put a torch on it. post up a pic, let us see how bad it is. lcc014
The guy doing your alignment is an unprofessional, lazy bastard or he forgot to check the steering wheel while doing the alignment. This is not a complicated process, but could be slightly time consuming. Went back to NTB this morning, and that guy redid the all 4 wheels alignment. Now, car goes straight with steering wheel at DTC.
Modus
This is the print out of my alignment right now... WOW looks a lot familiar to what VOLVO uses at the dealer ship. All the local shops by me couldn't get my alignment correct. Had no choice but to spend $99 at the local stealership.

I noticed that after the car was done and when they gave me the bill. I spent 2 hours getting this done and didn't want to wait any longer. Next time I go I'll argue the fact. The funny thing is when you take the car to the dealer the service reps like to sell you things. Like they mentioned my service light is on, and my reply was "it has been on for the past 8 years", it's just a reminder to take the bulb out",why? Can you shut it off for me? They didn't like that remark. Which is why I prefer to talk to the tech which is hard to do in a commercial shop as such.

It's great you can do the work yourself and save some moolah. But what about the poor souls who can't do the work themselves? They have to whip out the credit card. they go in for a front end alignment and WHAM-O...$600 later....! My complaint would be that they are making you waste time and spend more money than you ought to. That seems to be the issue with some of these places...ie Firestone, Sears, NTB, etc.. And your car looks GREAT by the way..damn..I want an R wagon... I have not darkened the door of a Sears Auto Service place for almost 20 years for just such an incident. Cancelled my credit card, talked to the manger, called the regional manager...b u d d y ...I was PISSED Although my son swears by their 4-wheel alignment (lifetime warranty i believe) on another note..what is that picture in your sig?..it looks like a circuit board...with a moose and it's calf on it?...what is that?
