Matt01
So i bought a brand spanking new used fuel sending unit for my car and changed it while i was replacing my leaking gas lines on my 850 AWD. It works perfectly intill it gets to about 15L. It gets to this point, slightly under and my car starts stalling and stuttering, and eventually will run out of gas. It never goes down to the 10L mark, never get a fuel light. Its like its off calibration or something. What could be the problem? Thanks.

I couldn't even tell if my light is burnt out...it never gets that low

I couldn't even tell if my light is burnt out...it never gets that low the light works, because when i first started the car after the subframe drop i had just maybe 3 or 4 liters in the tank and the light was on and the needle was so low. I guess if theres no soloution, ill just make sure to keep my car above the 15L mark.

Possibly second sending unit like late models.? You can manually manipulate the floater and see if the gas level rises, maybe the contact points are not mating evenly. This would require me to drop the tank again, a job that im not willing to do unless there's another major problem under there..
AverageVolvo
Drop the tank? that sucks. I had to verify it on vadis, that is On Fwd it's very simple, I can change one out in 20min. If you had to struggle getting it in it's very likely you bent it You have to gently rotate it in they are a Pia on Fwd as it is
Gilhuly
There are ways to cut through the under-seat metal to get acces to the fuel pumps on the awds that I have seen that removes the need to drop the tank. I saw a pictorial write up when doing some research on a customer car.
