trance42
What's the history on this motor? Did you buy it new? I bought it from mike in Chicago. He had it for a very short time and was fed up with the fact that he kept blowing differentials. At the time, you couldn't get a hold of a stronger differential. There was no demand for them. He parted out his car and I bought his VMS motor, 30/35r turbo, clutch, and a bunch of other goodies for around 10k$. I haven't been disappointed. The only problem I have ever had form the VMS motor was in the head. Valve seals went bad. I changed them and I had no other issues. Below is a link to pictures of the motor that VMS took during the build. http://www.volvomotorsports.com/gallery/thumbnails.php?album=

No it doesn't go all the way through. The motor runs fine with it. Its a very small place in the piston. I called VMS to inquire about getting a new piston at one time and terry(not sure if that is his name) said i shouldn't worry about it. Its near the wall so there is a good amount of metal underneath.
