TRACStar
Its near the wall so there is a good amount of metal underneath. Agreed but the edges of the hole will attract heat like a magnet.
trance42
Agreed but the edges of the hole will attract heat like a magnet. Terry said i could have it filled with a little weld and smoothed but i wasn't planning on running it hard so i didn't bother. The hole size has not changed from the time I replace the valve seals and now.For the money this motor is a great deal. People are willing to pay 500+ dollars for a new down pipe. I think a built short block in good condition other than the hot spot for 750 is a great deal. It wouldn't cost much to change the one piston. You will not find a better deal. Chilled man
You cant believe everything you hear. You should keep you stupidity to yourself. oraly ? you should tell that to the 20+ people he has ripped off. you would have had a better chance saying this was a built motor and not attching VMS to it .... ;)
HtownTurboBrick
It's happened on occasion a VMS "built" motor was nothing more then a pressure washed and painted block... VMS doesn't exactly have a good track record with the members around here.

(n)A-GAME
For engine shipping call up engineshipping(.com). I used them after another VS'er recommended them and no complaints. You can also go on uship.com and solicit bids for the shipment.
mkb
So would i have a better chance selling the rotating assembly? I know the cyls have to bored 20 over. Also what is the best way to ship a motor? Are you saying it needs to be bored 20 over or it has been bored 20 over?
TRACStar
Are you saying it needs to be bored 20 over or it has been bored 20 over? He's saying that the pistons are 20 over, so if someone wanted to buy just the rotating assembly you would need to have your block bored.
BlackT5
Looks legit to me. Obviously not stock pistons and one look at the rods would tell you if they were indeed hbeams. Mike bought his motor in the very beginning when Chris bought his and I bought my pistons/rods. We were some of the first customers who got what they paid for. IIRC Mike ran an 11.8 on that motor. http://volvospeed.com/vs_forum/index.php/topic/21048-went-to-the-track-finally/
