Matty Moo
This is an ENGINE REMOVAL DIY, but the Flex Plate info is in Step #63: http://www.matthewsvolvosite.com/forums/viewtopic.php?f=1&t=28973 That's actually the one I read before I started tearing into this. That guy put a ton of time into documenting that.
the commissar!
Last one I did didn't want to come out with a pic or screw driver so I did this...worked like a charm! This is what my mechanic did: 1. Drill 2 pilot holes in the seal flange, taking care not to damage the sealing surfaces (crankshaft or outer surface). 2. Insert 2 sheet metal screws then pull the seal. 3. Keep the old seal for driving in NEW seal. I posted the pic recently but here it goes. Info from Honda CRV but the idea is the same. http://crxcommunity....topic.php?t=
volvoskiah
make sure to lubricate the new one with oil. I just tapped one side in a little and the other side popped out. Used the old one to put in the new one!

Used the old one to put in the new one! Um NO> Great way to let it seep. Perhaps a tad in the inner against the rotating portion. But it's not needed, I have done quite a few never had a leak, longest one is at 25k so far.
Cal3thousand
Yeah, I read up on that. I'm glad I did since I've never touched a transmission before. So, I drain the TC, then put it back in and it will get filled back up when it's in? I wish I had read up before installing the damn TC onto the flywheel first ... ... oh well... here's to more experience as for the TC, I've heard to fill it with Qt of fluid before putting in... anyone confirm? Your lucky that you haven't had a leak. You always lubricate seals before you put them in to make a complete seal all the way around.
