When did we ever have that? As for haggeling it has make an offer as an option and I can enable a bidding option if you guys want. New for sale sections has ~20% more traffic than the previous forum set up so say what you want but as far as facts.

1. It cost less to users.

2. It generates more exposure.

Ok, with all the democracy and politics there is these days, dont you think its important to listen to what the people want?

And doesnt every new internet selling site or forum get a high % rate at the beginning? and the majority of the replies to this topic have been negative, so where's the 20%?

If i wanted to enter a bidding war for something i would just buy off ebay excl.gif

But it is what it is!

I like it better personally.

There were too many of the same clowns adding their irrelevant comments in almost every for sale thread. It was more of a social forum than a sale forum. There would be one item for sale with 15 replies, and all 15 were just comments. "HOT, Do Want, Can I haz" and other stupid shit like that. AND, the same broke jackasses expressing interest in every high dollar part listed with "Maybe when I get paid next week". It was the same shit over and over. Some people should spend less time online, and more time pursuing some sort of education.

Either buy it, ask a relevant question, or sit down and be quiet. It was like watching a room full of 4 year olds on a sugar high.

Have you even signed up and tried it?

No i havent signed up for it yet, to be honest i was turned off by the immediate similarities to the ebay site!

But i gotta try everything at least once...so i am going to sign up! I cant hate until i participate tongue.gif

To matt's comment...ya i agree some of the posts in the for sale forum were irrelevant, but what do you expect to happen in a forum? it would be an ideal world if everyone did what they were supposed to and kept all their stupid ALL GLORY TO THE HYPNOTOAD comments to themselves.

so what your saying is that its just like Ebay only just for volvospeed. I can't fight the fact that you had 20% more traffic, the question is are you getting more sales? because whats the point of putting it on here when ebay is the exact same thing and has more exposure. I think the 20% is just everyone giving it a try. once everyone has tested it I expect you will see a drop.

I, for one, am sad to see that the poor deeds and poor actions of few have spoiled something good for the many. In a recent conversation with scandalo, I learned it was going to be mandatory that pictures with date time and info be displayed with the item for sale. I thought to myself... "what the hell does this fix?"

It's too bad that every other volvo site can have a for sale section and we cannot. It's not chuck's fault... it's the stupid f*cks who've made bad deals or no deals at all that have ruined it for us. Don't blame the admin... blame the users.

VolvoSpeed has been ruined by VolvoThieves.

In actuality it is kind of chucks fault because we could have made revisions to the old for sale section, by having a vote and putting all our ideas together in a poll instead making this another fee site which benefits only one person, A few years ago they had vs auctions as well as the regular for sale thread at same time, guess what people liked more. The regular for sale thread stayed on top and vs auctions crashed and burned. It is best to have the best interests at heart for the whole community and not one person. The bad apples can pull the same crap in new for sale section, so it does not make it any better, plus the old for sale was more craigslist style which was much easier to view.

Ebay vs Volvospeed on niche parts, I am not sure who gets more exposure. I see lots of poorly listed items on ebay get 10 views and sell for 1/10th what it should. As for more sales, I have no idea. Its not like profit for Volvospeed is based on what you guys sell. Traffic will stay up though for one simple reason. SEO.

x10 on that. Most of my sales on VS are from new members with zero posts who found me through google.

I also advertise on a regional 4x4 forum, and actually sell there only because of SEO. Only 2 people on that site out of about 10,000 members own a Volvo.

+1 I heard about matt by searching google trying to find abs modules, and stumbled upon a few postings, and had persuasion of MVS.

I personally am ok with the new FS, it is definitely alot more... Secure then the old way.

No more having to worry your going to get ripped off, or cheated out of stuff.

Plus, it detures those who are going to clog up someones FS.

But I will say this... I highly doubt you'll ever see my on their unless I am desperate to get rid of something, I will no doubt just lurk on wanted until l someone needs what I have laying around.

Honestly, even though I haven't bought anything on the new site, I like the new style. The layout is easier to use, and I think the fact that its actually organized in some manner is really useful.

I just went through the fee list, doesn't look like I'll be selling much on VS anymore. :( I think the other lesser Volvo forums will be getting a big increase in sales traffic after this.

Looks like I will be visiting swedespeed.com more often now to buy/sell. Lame. Was gonna purchase a subscription until this happened...

It's chuck's fault? You can't be serious. And how does him taking the time to change the for sale section just solely benifit him? You imply that he is solely interested in money, then say he is ignoring the wants/needs of the 'population'. How do you make money by driving people away? (Your words, not mine)

plus the old for sale was more craigslist style which was much easier to view.

How does having a picture next to each listing, visible price, uniform display, and catagories make things HARDER to view, then post titles that have zero content requirement, rarely showed a price, had no picture next to the title, and no sorting method beyond chronological order?

I agree that it was 50/50 chance to find a picture in the old style listings, but if you look now at the new system, there is still an alarming number of listings that don't have pics. It should be required to add a picture if you want to sell in the new system.
