Not sure why everyone's hating on the seats so much. They are much lighter than any OE Volvo seat. They are also black, not bright red or bright yellow, they don't even stick out. I personally think they look good. Besides, it's his car. If he wants to do weight reduction and performance over looks, there's nothing wrong with that. Some people believe in show before go, others believe in go before show.

Either way, looks good. I'll refrain from making an ugly bumper comment because it's not like you don't already know

Oh come on? No car deserves a race seat unless its at least ready to be a proper track day car. A race seat in a basically stock Volvo sedan screams wishful thinking. Not trying to be an ALL GLORY TO THE HYPNOTOAD.. but nobody will get that?

Would it not not make sense though, if one was going to participate in some spirited driving, to be well harnessed in the vehicle to ensure better control?

Digging the seats, more worthwhile mod then people think. Can seats be swapped without avoiding an SRS light or is there a sensor resistor trick?

Also considering my car is not stock...

M56H swap

850 R clutch & plate

fmic

koni yellows

ipd sport springs

gates racing timing belt

Will be boring out the cylinders or at least honing them, porting the head and reseating the valves, resurfacing the decks, balancing the crankshaft, sways, oh and i'm trying to find the time to get my interior measured so i can start fitting a roll cage.

I hope when some asked asks you why you have racing seats in your Volvo you dont say beacause it has a OEM 5 speed and a racing timing belt lol? springs shocks and a FMIC are minor mods anyhow. No matter what, unless you have a proper track day car that sees alot of use on the track, racing seats are last. You're the guy people laugh at when they see the Volvo family car with racing seats I really dont get it??? But regardless, GL with making it a proper track day car.

Hey while you're at it, go tell Craig, Greg and the others on VS that they're lame for having racing seats in their wagons even though they don't track them.

Look, my goal is to get into racing. I got the seats very cheap, (knock offs, but still same quality) and I really like them. Usually I bug the people involved with NASA, SCCA etc. to death about regulations and such, but right now you are one that I will outright avoid. And also, i too consider those mods small. But at 20 years old, in school 36 hours a week learning as much as I can about cars, and working 20+ hours every weekend at poking chuck e. cheeses to pay for it all, I don't think I'm doing too bad. Maybe you should jump down from your pedestal, assuming you're good enough to get on one, and instead of shitting on the people aspiring to do what you do, maybe help them out. Of all the different types of drivers on this forum, I would have figured someone of your profession to be a bit more supportive; but people just keep proving me wrong, must be some new trend.

PS: Read what it says underneath my signature. I couldn't give two I crapped my pants and I love how it feels about what other people think about me or my car and whether or not they laugh at it..

Eh?? have you seen craigs car? That car has it all. And i dont give stuff who else has race seats in there Volvo, the fact is a bone stock looking S70 sedan with race seats in it is hilarious looking. It is what it! Craigs car looks sick.. and well deserving of some custom seats.
