ylstaffer
Recently bought a 98 XC and noticed the the e-brake wasn't really working very well. While I was looking around under the car I noticed that the right rear wheel was missing the e-brake cable so I got a new one from FCP Groton. Since there is no existing cable I really don't know where this new one connects in the front (the rear is pretty obvious on the inner hub). Any pics anywhere or good descriptions about how this attaches to the handle? Thanks in advance!
ylstaffer
So... I guess no one ever had this problem before. Thanks anyway.
Keaton85
Calm down there buddy, not many VSers are awake yet haha! Look at the other cable. It just runs under the rear carpet and along side the hump in the middle and under the center console to the e-brake handle.

That's just it, the right cable is missing on the exterior, but it sounds like if I remove the console and rear seat and carpet I'll see what's left of it along the floor. That helps, thanks! Oh and my original post was last Friday (with no replies) so it was getting lost in the pile, just wanted to get it back near the top. Thanks again binglax! sconeman
what's up brotha! connecting it to the lever is the easy part you can loosen the rear of the console by removing the two screws under the armrest and maybe disconnect the electrical connections under the console, then lift it up so you can see the cable connection on each side of the console frame in between the seats. The bad news is the cable runs under the subframe. I used some cable fasteners and secured it to the underside of the car instead. I also did not enjoy getting the cable end through the back of the hub assembly (on the R)

renns
im in the same situation yet i can not figure how to remove the seats In my V70 the rear seat bottoms flip forward. Once flipped, there are red plastic locks that release the seat from the hinge point, allowing the entire seat bottom to be removed.
