Find a smog friend  unless they have a 94/95. or live in a non smog required area.

It's still worth it, every 2 years you pay 125-175$ to pass. instead of 50$ Kinda like personalized plates, you have to pay a small fee, gotta pay to play :P

Last time I checked the TT forums Adam had a file for the 96-97 crowd to pass smog, I don't think TX is as strict as I have EGR disabled and a rear O2 fooler and I passed TX emissions with flying colors.

AG-

I go on the weekends to Aaron's (Race Lab Fabrication) If he is available this weekend and I'm heading up I will send you a PM.

YOU WILL NOT PASS A SMOG TEST WITH A MANUAL TT ECU.

The reason is that the manual tune has Obd2 disabled(all manual 850 tunes do), if you had a 95 then there is no problem, but 96-97 require that the smog tech connect to the obd2 to check duty readiness cycle.

Other than that the TT has no issues with smog.

Someone please chime in if TT has resolved this issue. My car fails visual due to several mods, Fmic , Dp Methanol kit, etc...

Time to start looking for a smog friend. Also Cj(TT distributer may be able to load a manual and auto tune.

all turbo tuner ecu's are manual and auto. its all based on the tune. I was able to run my manual tune when i wanted then load up the auto tune when i wanted it smogged. adam sent me the OBDII tune and everything worked great.
