db130
out of stock already? btw looked at the stock mounts of both cars today, looks like the XC has the updated design so it must have been changed out at one point, the other car has still has the original bushing and i know that one is in poor condition. i may try the poly mount on the XC first to see how significant the addtional NVH is with the poly firewall mount. Ipd
We actually have all the components except the instructions aren't completed yet So you can purchase now if you can do without instructions, otherwise we'll have them done shortly. db130
let me get this out of the way: [HOLY THREAD REVIVAL, BATMAN!] recently had a chance to install IPD blue poly upper engine mount bushings + poly firewall mount bushings at the same time - the rubber inserts that were removed had over 200k and were presumed to be the original. both were in really sad shape, especially the firewall bushing, i could rock it in either direction at least a 1/4" with my hand. i've tried the poly engine mount+transmission mount combo in 2 other vehicles. i could sense no discernible difference between vibration between the poly engine mount+transmission mount combo and the poly engine mount+firewall mount combo. Mesoam
I have a prototype in my car but it's not pretty Hand cut polly? We did one of those for my buddys SAAB back in the day, it was ugly as hell but worked pretty damn good
gilber33
^^^ yup dave, you said you put the transmission torque mount into the firewall mount right? After you pressed out the bushing? Any idea if that bushing would fit into an aftermarket mount? I am getting the IPD HD transmission torque mount so it comes with two poly bushings, wouldn't mind pressing one of the bushings out of the firewall mount and toss in the extra poly bushing. I do not believe they fit the aftermarket ones, you'll need an extra sleeve the kit only comes with one. I have a few OE spares laying around already gutted, PM me if you need one. MBXPilot
So excited to order this! I had one of the old QBM mounts until it broke last year. Can't wait
krn
>> I also threw a blue poly trans mount in my upper firewall mount, works well but the cowl vibration eventually cracked my front dash panel around the immobilizer led. That part recently cracked on my 98 S70. I have a poly upper engine mount and the stock mount at the firewall side. I also have the IPD lower transmission mount (huge improvement in clutch engagement!). But my dash vibration is very low (I think a manual transmission helps, especially at stop lights). Our stock 855 has more NVH than my S70. I don't see a lot of people mentioning this part breaking -- I wonder if it is common? When mine cracked I was driving the car and it sounded like a hammer hit the front glass. Bang! It also cracked twice. Once half way to the immobilizer LED and a few weeks later all the way through. Mesoam
cowl vibration eventually cracked my front dash panel around the immobilizer led. more than likely was just age/sun damage as that happens to completely unmodified cars
frogg
I will be picking one up shortly. My bushing is shot.

mune237
Maybe I missed it, but the old and new styles are the same dimensionally? My 2000 C70 has the new style now. So all I need to do is find an old style and install this bushing kit? Geez where am I going to find an old one?
