Well bad news sports fans.. Its got "a stipped/broken exhaust manifold bolt and a misfire, so it's only runnin on 3 clyinders, and not living up to it's full boosting potential. We'll see tho.. Any RWDers wanna wax intelligence on how hard of a fix these (common?) problems might be? Doug, anyone... help!

I was really hopin' to just get a car that ran fine... I don't know how into delving into the world of RWD wrenchin just to get the thing up to snuff... ;)

Hey bud, let me try to sum it up as best as I can:

1. Do a compression check, it'll tell you if you have a REAL problem. Odds are, bad plug wire, bad cap/rotor, bad plug ect.

2. Things to look out for:

a. Check the engine bays wiring, they are either bad or been replaced... ussualy the first.

b. Look for rust

c. Look for lots of oil leaks, oil in the intercooler plumbing ect ect

3. The exhaust manifold bolt, pretty straight forward. Its common. Im sure you have the skills to do what you need to do to get it fixed.

4. Manual? I'll put 10 bucks on the OD doesn't work... also not a huge issue either.

240T's weakness is wiring... engine bay and OD wiring are ussualy the cause for 99 percent of the problems. Both can be solved in a day.

well he did say it was listed as a 4speed, which is the way you say "m46 with bad OD soleniod" if the OD itself was bad, it would make the rest of the tranny useless. also check the Relay and wiring for the OD.
