lanza850
Hello All,My car would not start a few weeks ago. I have replaced the rotor, cap and plugs (wires looked fine) to no avail. My next step is to check the EGR, throttle body and idle air valve for clogging, but I have questions before proceeding. The idle air valve has some special type of brackets on it. What do I use to remove and reinstall these? Also, what is recommended for cleaning all three of the above openings assuming that I do not have access to a drill (as I believe Rich prefers)?Side note: I also tripped the following codes over the last month.2-1-4 Engine speed (RPM) sensor signal sporadic Faulty2-4-1 EGR system, flow fault FaultThanks for your help and have a safe and happy holiday!!! jda2000
Rich is on vacation, won't be back until New Year's. The IAC valve slides out of the rubber bracket, after the hoses have been disconnected.A Dremmel tool works great to chisel the gunk out of the EGR. :P

Where is that sensor located? Could this be the culprit for my car not starting? Thanks again.
