payableondeath6
Anyone have any cheap recommendations for seat covers for the front power seats that fit good? The ones I have on now are terrible.
TxS70
seat covers will impair the function of the sips bag. NO GO
Jippi 855 GLT
ive seen alot of bad seats but when i goto the bone yard i always manage to find a few sets of seats. they arent terribly expensive. you could get a new set of skins which are easier to ship then seats but it takes patience to take the seats apart and reskin. payableondeath6
Unfortunately I've not seen one Volvo in any of the junkyards around here or I'd do that in an instant. Also, I've heard conflicting reports on the seat covers and sips working. Some people say yes and some say no, so do specific covers work only or is everything out? SANTINO
Hi, I found some SIPS safe seat covers at Canadian Tire. I have not had a problem with them so far. Best thing is that they were only $40 for the pair. Here is the link. Maybe you can source them out in the USA. http://www.canadiantire.ca/AST/browse/2/DriveWinter/WinterCarCare/IncarComfort/PRD~0326277P/Daytona%252BLow-back%252BSeat%252BCover.jsp?locale=en

Guest Elwood
Hi Elwood here. Our seat skins are expensive because they are top quality and as close to OE as we can make them. We foam line all of the panels just like OE so the new foam makes the seat feel new. One thing that I don't like doing but do to keep them authentic is use real leather for the pouch on the back of the seat. I understand these seat skins aren't for everyone because of the price but we put a lot into them, they are made in the USA and they are quality. To answer the questions about the covers (not skins) and SIPS. When the SIPS goes off it has two stages one initial powerful blast that blows out the skin because the skin is firmly anchored to the frame and can't flex. A cover will move and trap the bag behind it and the second stage will most likely inflate between the covee and the seat and between your back and the seat. If you cut a hatch door in the cover and use some velcro to hold it closed if the SIPS goes off it will punch through the velcro hatch and the second stage will inflate. So you can Just make a cut in the cover where the SIPS is and it will work. But think about our skins too. I hope this helps. Bob
