f1fanoly
I was wondering what the correlation between p0455=evap gross leak and p0410=SAS malfunction. They are always together when check engine light comes on and I pull codes, never individually or seperately. My OBDII scanner only gives me freeze data on the code it determines is priority, wich is always the evap leak.I know my air pump is bad, full of water when I did a motor swap this summer, waiting for a for sure fix to be figured out so I have no plans on replacing the air pump.I installed a low mile '98T5 motor and did extensive and complete stage 0,same codes before the swap.Where exactly is the purge valve?I looked over all evap related vac hoses to and from the carbon cannister/fuel lines when doing the swap and found nothing.I know theres a purge/rollover valve somewhere that fails and some lines at the back of the car at tank.Still, evap and sas seem completely independent of each other and unrelated.Could it be that the ecu always does system check of those two at the same time,I have problems with both systems and thats why they are always together? If you really want to stop scratching your head over the P0455 have the system smoked to find the leak. My guess it is near the canister or roll-over valve...but it can be anywhere in the system. Don't throw money at a new purge valve until the system is smoked. They are expensive and most likely not the problem. They are located on the fan shroud. The reason the CEL's come up together is that they make take the same drive cycle for testing by the ECU. BTW you never got back to me about the Air pump I have for sale. Sorry,I did respond in the other thread i posted in the wrong section(performance/modifications).Honestly,I did, check. So,how do I go about buying it?Not trying to jerk you around but I found a guy parting out a '97GLT in for sale section and he'll sell me the pump, relay and check valve for $70+shipping.New to this and have never bought used parts through the forum,or anywhere else other than wrecking yards. As for the p0410,isnt that a cold start only, ambient temp. dependent system? When it does code the car is at operating temp (200deg)I check the code & they're both there. Keaton85
The sas checks while at cruising speed. Pumps, checks for O2 voltage drop and renewed a few times in order to check the system.
f1fanoly
You sure that wasn't me in the new For Sale section? Ok then, walk me through what I need to do to buy the stuff. The sas checks while at cruising speed. Pumps, checks for O2 voltage drop and renewed a few times in order to check the system. So does the system coincidentally do evap check each and every time it does sas check or is my sas issue somehow causing evap leak detection?
