Just curious if running HID HL and Fogs is maybe to much for the alternator to handle? Got out of work today with A dead battery and the last couple days it's seemed low when I went out to start it.Battery's only A year old Optima red top and HID's are the only recent thing I can think of I've done. Not running any big stereo equipment just an aftermarket deck and haven't left any doom lights on or anything. After I charged up the Bat the tester said I was getting 13.9 volts and the Alternator was at 75% at idle?

Keep in mind that standard HIDs are 35 watts and standard headlights are 55 watts, so with the HIDs you are actually using less power.

It is more likely that the battery or alternator are bad. Actually, the battery is bad, but it could have been damaged by a faulty alternator.

Yea hids don't draw much, only on start up. We have 100A alternators that's plenty of power. You have an unexpected draw someplace. I don't think it's your battery, I have a red top strong now for 5 years.

Check all your accessories that are still powered when you take the key out.

Especially the trunk light, it blew my moms 850 battery in a day. It took a week to find it. Cause you don't see it if not in the trunk <_<
