Alright well i want to do a cool install utilizing the stock speakers. Should I go with a single din dvd/screen all in one like alpine ivad300 or should I use a single din dvd/cd/mp3 player and then a sinlge din screen above it? Do I have to use aftermarket amps? Can I keep the 5.1 surround? Anyone in the bay want to help me with this. I have a hook up at a stereo place for at cost but not for install.

imposible... :D

I'd go single din/dvd. seems easier.. less wiring involved

Do I have to use aftermarket amps?

not neccesarily.

Can I keep the 5.1 surround?

I'm not sure.

Anyone in the bay want to help me with this?

which bay area? put your location on your profile so we can tell. :)

You know, I think Bing had some really nice A/V units that were going to be for sale through his work soon. And you know bing takes care of us VS members. There are a few guys have have an A/V setup in thier car... Give it some time, they'll chime in.

Bing had a single screen unit that could be interfaced with a dvd player. I'd go that route becuase I think you'll save yourself some money if you do that and IMO it would be easier to have the dual unit. We're comparing about a $1000 unit series here to about a $2000 unit. I'm anxious to see what bing recommends also.

compared to aftermarket? nope.

compared to sotck crap from GM, yes.

If it is dynaudio speakers, you bet it sounds wonderful. Dynaudio is an aftermarket product, duh?

I have not heard speakers as wonderful, subtle, clear, yet powerful as the dynaudio. If anyone says dynaudio is an OK product, something is wrong with your hearing (maybe sony sounds better eh?). I don't know what kind of dynaudio they put in the c70, but I'm sure even the low-end dynaudio sounds awesome.

Yeah hopefully bing will chime in.. Does anyone know of a head unit that plays dvd's/cd/mp3 and has the 5.1 processor in it? My 3 disk changer is lame error's constantly and I disconnected the power on accident so now the day after christmas I'll be driving 5 hours without a stereo. Idiots at the local dealership wouldn't give me the code today I'm really annoyed but I have it written down at home.

the pioneer that you mention is a pretty good one. It has everything in 1, including the 5.1 processor. It's $1K on e-bay, good deal.

I have bad luck with ebay i like having warranties and stuff.  My friend can get that pioneer brand new to me for like 1750 I think.  But I want a player that doesn't have a screen on it so it won't be as likely to break.

As long as they are an authorized dealer they should honor the warranty. Buying from unauthorized po-dunk ebay mongers is a no no.
