georgeleedom
Trouble with my '99 S70 GLT. The car's been running great. I recently put on a new from Volvo 16T turbo, obx exhaust (I added a 2.5" cat for inspection purposes), a K&N short ram intake, and an IPD turbo control valve. I've put several hundred miles on the car since these mods. Today I was getting ready to pass someone and no boost at all. The car started sputtering and the air intake got really loud as if the turbo was spooled up to 20 lbs. I shut it off for about an hour. It will start, but will barely go 15mph. It surges like crazy and the vacuum gauge bounces back and forth from 15 to 0. I took of the air filter, put my hand over the mass airflow sensor and it smoothed out until it stalled. When I put on the TCV and the new turbo I replaced all the vacuum hoses. As I said everything was running great until today. I did not get a check engine light. I had no choice but to have it towed to a shop. They were closing up and said they don't usually work on Volvos, but would see what they could do. I'm hoping they don't do anything because hopefully with your help I can fix it myself. Especially without going through a laundry list of part replacements I don't need. Side note: I do a lot of my own work, but bigger things, like replacing the turbo, I had a stellar mechanic for. Unfortunately, three weeks ago I moved to another state. Any help is appreciated. 831t5r
Did you make sure you have no air leaks, like all charge pipes and hoses are ok with no leaks?
Guest georgeleedom
no I didn't. I will do that as soon as I get the car back.
