volvo500bhp
My temps at first start up are 5.8-6 bar and after a short run with temps around 80c the pressure is around 2 bar. If Steve takes his oil pump off after 3000 miles and if it looks OK' I'm going to remove mine and strip it to see what its like. I want to make dam sure that it doesn't happen again to me or anyone else's car' btw mines a P2 T5 with a stock oil cooler system and I'm using Recline 15/40 oil. Scootdiggity I think your right there mate outsourcing parts on the cheap or cheap re manufactured parts Where are you taking your readings from as they seem lower then i see ? Barnsley-Bill
My pressure take off is a Tee' off the original oil pressure switch and for the temp sensor I tapped a hole in the sump at the Gearbox end. I'm watching my gauges like a hawk as even though Volvo UK supplied me with everything I needed to rebuild my engine including a new crank I don't trust these pumps anymore. Strange i have my sensor straight in the original oil pressure hole and see 8 bar at cold start idle and after the temp gets to approx 80c (i have the temp into the sump plug hold (no need for any extra holes that could cause a leak ;)i get 2-3 bar on idle i have never seen or heard of a problem with the pumps i do have an old one at work i will have a look at (i changed my last one just in case when the headgasket failed Russ
