blazen244
The rims I'm going to purchase have a +40 offset will they fit with no modifications or is that offset to much. What is a good offset that'll work for my car?

What is a good offset that'll work for my car? diameter? width? brand/type? size of tires you plan to use? do you have stock brakes or upgraded ones? blazen244
They are styled after the C-70 BBS rims, 17 X 8 and I was looking to go with a 235/45/17 and the brakes are stock
Wagoneer855
Way too big with the tire, 215/45/17 is a perfect size. Although on an 8" wheel I would maybe go 225/40/17 or the biggest 225/45/17. Offset is perfect, no worries about clearance.

SaberD
a 225 will rub if you plan on lowering the car. i'd go with the 215's. i just got some 215/45/17's on my 17x7 +40 wheels. I'd suggest getting the best tire you can get since we are limited by width to get max traction. I went with the continental extremecontact dws - they are some of the best all season tires you can get.
prasamin
I honestly think a 215/45 would be a better fit if you're looking to lower the car. if not, then i believe a 225/40/17 is a good choice....not sure about a 225/45....might be a little too much for full lock, bumps, and cargo/passengers. and just to reinforce...but 235/45 is a definite no-go....too large. go with 215/45 or 225/
