bender005
saturday i was going to replace my timing belt on my 93 850 gtl, and got everything torn apart and put the new one on, and found that the new one was 6 ribs shorter, so i put the old one back on. test drove the car and went to take off and had no power, put the pedal to the floor and it took a long time to get going. checked the timing and its fine. drove in to work on monday and had the same problems when i first took off and it got better as i got closer to work. by the time i arrived at work the problem was gone. at lunch i went to leave work and the car started and i went to give it gas and it died. now it wont start. it cranks over, the fuel pump is pushing 45 psi and it has spark, the battery has 12 volts, checked the fuses there fine, tried the imobilizer by unlocking and locking the doors. i am stumped on this and dont want to guess and throw parts at it. thanks, B.Martin
Gilhuly
Either the timing isn't OK or you have a pretty big vacuum leak. Check your intake hose on the throttle body?
