blazen244
I just got my ECU in the email, I'll be installing over the weekend is there anything I should know before putting it in.
johnloves850's
Why over the weekend? It takes .2 seconds to put in. You don't even need tools..
echo5625
if it's going in your T5 should be a straight drop in
GltGreco
yeah in a t5 there should be no issues at all, only raising the boost a few psi, so maybe vac lines if they have never been done, but its not really changing much.
johnloves850's
Yea and even the vacuum lines may be a bit overkill unless they actually break.. You'll only be upping the boost by 2ish psi.
Brad850
haha the time it took you to make this thread is the time it would take you to swap the ECU.
AverageVolvo
You may need a flat blade screw driver to pop out the clips on the ecu box. But seriously it takes 1 minute. Better if the car is not super hot.
johnloves850's
If you really try you can get that clip off with your beyar hayndz.
kingbarley
Yeah man...just open the ecu box near the windshield wiper fluid cap, slide the metal tab on the old one over, pull it out, replace with my ecu, slide the tab back so it's flush and then start her up! AverageVolvo
And an instant 60+ hp Hot Damn Actually its's 18 Hp as the R in the Us came with 240Hp and Stock T5 was 222 but it's a better power curve as well. Very nice conservative upgrade, I have one for my girl's T5. It's noticeable even as a passenger :D
aggarcia
The difference between the two is very noticeable. I bought a used t5 ecu to use as a core and installed it in my R to try it out to make sure it worked correctly. There is a noticeable boost difference, but the character changes. The power under the curve seems greater than the slight HP difference would suggest. Enjoy the R ecu. AG

AG I did notice a power difference under normal driving and boost is down the power seems to be there. I haven't pushed it yet going to let it bake in for a few days but, I took my cousin for a quick ride and he though it was amazing. So where do I go from here? would the front mount be next?
