850T5M
I haven't drove in another 850 before, but Im wondering if when you start the car cold, if the idle is supposed to be relatively high? I know my moms Honda Accord has like 1200rpm cold idle...my 850t5 has around 900rpm cold idle, and 850rpm normal idle...its essentially the same thing. Anyone have this problem, or is this normal for these cars? P.S. I live in Canada, where last winter the car would cold idle (900rpm) even when starting the car in -20 degree Celsius weather lol.. Thanks!

850T5M
So any idea why mine isnt lol Car runs perfect except for that...idle is smooth. Starts right away. I cleaned the IAC 2 months ago. Changed all vacuums/boost hoses. New O2 sensor. New rotor, wires, plugs. Not something that bothers me, just would be nice for the car to warm up a little faster in the super cold winters we have.
bergmjs
Right when I turn my 850 on it goes to ~1200 for less than a second then settles down to 850-900 immediately and stays there no matter what the temperature outside. I know newer Volvo's have a warm up period that the ECU will rev the engine slightly in cold weather to warm it up faster. I know s60's have this as well as my mom's saab 9-3. I have had 2 850's and neither had a warm up period of higher revs.
850T5M
Ah ok, so maybe this is normal 850 behavior... I have another small question, maybe someone can answer. My gas pedal gets harder to press when its raining outside. Anyone else have this problem? Its really annoying to drive a manual car when the gas pedal changes. Gilhuly
I also do not have any higher idle on cold starts. 900 all the time.
