jb7073
My bro got the JVC KD-AR600 for Christmas and part of my present was to install it for him. Took several hours to install it, but mainly because I wanted to do it right. Not my first time installing one in a 700/900 anyway.Soldered all of the wire connections on the harness and shrink-taped them.Stupid factory amp was buried next to the steering column, and the new speaker wires had to be ran all the way over to where it was. Finally got it installed. Looks good to meThe radio has 6 display colors, and I can change the background. Switched to the CF one for this picAnyway, it all looks good. Sure he wants his car back now so he can listen to it (I'm driving it until I find a new car). Probably be helping him put in new speakers and subs this summer when he turns 16. That's why the CF one went on for now. I'm thinking of printing this one out and using it.

Bing_0
good job, very clean, though i personally would say next time go wtih crimp caps, makes the connection just as secure and you can do things in half the time b

I just like to do things right the first time. My first car stereo I crimped everything, and by the time I went to upgrade it, things began getting loose and such (I miss that one. I could tell the difference between MP3 and "real" cds). Soldering everything makes sure it secure the first time. Although, by my 10th stereo install, things are certainly looking better than they did at first.

jb7073
Looks good man! Always a fan of the JVC heads. ←Yeah, I had one for about a year before it got stolen and I had no complaints. This one had a 2 year warrenty and with 3 RCA outputs, should give him lots of room to add amps. Not too impressed with AIWA stereos though. I've installed 2 that I can remember. My wife has one now, and it's fine for her, but I'd never want one.

jb7073
^ there's nothing good about AIWA anything....←Yeah. There was only 1 reason why she got the one she did. Because it was the only one with a rotary volume nob with the track fwd/rev on the same side. Nothing against her, but the more she has to think and move her hand to navigate the radio, the less she pays attention to the road. That's the only reason she has it. I'm more of a fan of the Kenwoods myself at this time.

I'm more of a fan of the Kenwoods myself at this time.←It was a matter of it having both the rotary volume nob and the track skip buttons on the same side. Basically trying to keep her from having to move to the other side of the radio to change the track. At the time I purchased it, it was the only one under $200 with both of these requirements from crutchfield.Myself, I'd just learn to do it by memory or with the remote, and I'd want lots of room to add on. But her, simplicity was the goal.Oh well, I don't even have a car to put a stereo in right now, so I'm working on getting a decent shop radio.
