2000 Volvo S70 Radio In Off Lock Mode

I recently purched a volvo s70 and i had to replace the battery and when i did it asked for my code. I had no idea what the code was so i tried 1111, 1234, and 4321 to c if it would work but it didnt. Now my radio says off, how do i turn off the off and put in my code? please help!!!!!

First you need the code , if you have it then

you need to let the car sit with the key in pos2 for 2-4hr's then it will clear to put the code back in and

if you don't have the code you need to call a dealer to get it for you most do it for free

If you pull out your radio SOMETIMES the code is printed on an ID tag on top of it. Oh and what Gage said. :D

Key must be left in pos 1 for several hours until the word "code" is displayed on the radio.

The key has two "forward" positions in our car. Insert the key, and rotate it forward until the first click. This enables only a small subset of electronics such as the radio. Rotate it forward again, position 2, which enables everything such as the interior fan. This is the position that the key returns to after you start the car.

It should return to CODE status and for Christ's sake stop punching buttons until you know the code!

Three (3) times and it will go back to OFF and you will have to repeat the process.

Driving for 2 hours and NOT shutting it off yields the same result BTW
