CAPT_BLOTTO
I pulled the engine out of my wrecked car yesterday and found some damage on the diff cover of the M56. Will this buff out? Or is it weldable is the more serious question. Engine mount on the read the mounts to the back of the tranny. Must have broken in the accident. I was gonna try and get someone to just weld the engine mount on the diff cover rather than have the bolt in that spot.
Volvo5.0
I would just have the broken piece welded back on. Should be no problem.

johnloves850's
I would just jb weld it TBH. Around here, that would probably be around $55 to get welded back on. Good luck!

Ellsworth
It will weld back on just fine. I would clean the surrounding area real well before taking it anywhere. It will make the welder happy and probably save you some money.
Mr t
That should be weldable but yes it needs to be ultra clean Aluminum welds much better if its like new the oil tends to contaminate the welding. Also when welding aluminum the weld typically is weaker then the surrounding material so some extra supports might need to be added if its a critical point. its also tough to weld when its all together. CAPT_BLOTTO
Yeah I'm gonna clean it up with MEK reweld and tap a longer bolt through since I didn't use a long enough one in the first place.

Yeah, the bolt length was the first thing I noticed....that's why it broke.
