lookforjoe
Nice work! Only 4 hours? You're working pretty fast there! :D
Migilla
Great info and good work. You have a lot of followers studying your posts. Other that the gasket matching, any other plans for the head? Valve work...?

Other that the gasket matching, any other plans for the head? Valve work...? thank you. No other work planned. In fact that's why I went with the newer engine to reap the benefits of the RN. Certainly more could be done but I'm interested in using the block and head as is only and making everything else match up to that.

lookforjoe
EGT, A/F ratio, Front 02, what is the extra bung for? 3 would be standard, if you include wideband - we have 2 normal O2's that need to be present. My $60 (in materials) homemade DP - welds look like ass, but who cares it's all wrapped anyway.
sconeman
I will be deleting O2 numero two But I have an extra if I need it down the road. I don't think it cost any more to have two put in. So today I started many things and finished nothing I got the pedals out thanks to Bmac (I didn't know my steering wheel telescoped I'd never used that feature ) Got the cleaning of the engine to stage 1: degreased started installing the clutch master started taking some more parts off the car and getting it ready for wiring... Do you have TurboTuner to delete the emission's devices? Or you're just going to hang the rear O2 off to the side (messy solution, IMO)? BlackT5m
I'm currently in the middle of swapping an 02 engine into my 98, I have found that the 98 front engine mount doesn't mount to the 02 block, and the mount that came on the new engine places the hydraulic mount about 3/4" too far to the driver's side. This causes the engine to sit crooked and out of alignment. What mount are you planning to use? I thought I would be able to use the one from a 99 s70 but that one appears to be the same pn as the 02 mount.

sconeman
Hmmm I didn't realize this was the seal. I thought it was a cap with a cam seal underneath. here are the cam numbers from the 02 C70 coupe engine. Intake 69000441A46 Exhaust 9497822EB462
lookforjoe
Hmmm I didn't realize this was the seal. I thought it was a cap with a cam seal underneath. VADIS lists a seal inside that - same # as on the exhaust cam. The '03 head I bought had a seal on the cam, and then the outer cap.
