C70 Speaker Replacement

I am still looking at picking up a C70 to replace my S60. Does anyone have any behind the door panel photos they can share? I haven't installed my Focal 3 ways yet, and am debating on weather or not to even put them in my S60...or just wait till I eventually get the C70 'vert. Anyway, What I am looking at is the 6.5 in the lower door, the 4" in the upper door, and the tweeter in the dash. This will be powered by a pair of Kenwood 2 ch amps, effectively bi-amping the door speakers. Dooable, or a pipe dream? The rear will get whatever is the correct size and run off HU power and I have two Kicker Solo Classic 8" Dual 4 Ohm VC woofers that were going in the package tray running off an Alpine 1KW monoblock amp.. Still thinking on that one. HU will be a Pioneer AVIC D2 that I have sitting arround as my Z2 was stolen a while back, and I never put my D2 back in. Eventually, I'd like to upgrade back to the Z series later down the road.

Thanks in advance for your input

it has been said by some that the C70 has the best audio system already :P 8" in the lower door, guess they could be 4" in the upper. rears of a 'vert? not sure but 8" in a coupe. all powered by an amp not the HU.

i'll just say: wait before you buy anything.

also if you pick up a avic-Z1 you can DL the software to upgrade to Z3.

Many of C70's also shipped loaded with Dynaudio speakers. And the SC-900/901 along with the main amp are really Alpine.

If it's just more modern HU features that you want, you might start with just a fresh HU and go from there.

With a DIN to RCA cable, any aftermarket HU will plug right into the stock amp/speaker setup. Cake.

I just replaced my v70 door speakers with Boston Acoustic s60 components, and they are simply astounding... the tweeters are mounted facing toward the rear to the left of the door handle... I know it's unusual but this way you are still getting good imaging without those intense high frequencies in your face, etc.

I run these on a 4 channel 75 RMS amp... Then I run my other 4 3.5 inchers just straight from my kenwood deck which provides a nice extra something, again important for imaging.

I just bought a Boston Acoustics G2 12" Sub, which will go in a sealed box (I despise ported subs, they might be cool if you like sloppy bass and or are 15??) This is run by a mono 400 watt amp with the gain turned down a bit so as not to push the 300 RMS to hard.

I did this not because I wanted something to shake the neighborhood, but because I love music and I wanted pure accurate sound... I highly recommend this setup, and definitely the BA speakers.
