blazen244
Is IPD the only company that make this kit or are there others available? I did the search but no results found.
lengendsecko87
You can make your own.
Fake-R
EST (EuroSport Tuning) makes one as well. I've used both iPd and EST, and to be honest, I like iPd's kit better. Less couplers to deal with, and the iPd kit uses flared ends, to reduce the chance of a hose blowing off. And IIRC, you can still buy the OEM kit. blazen244
Okay, I thought I saw one from someone other than IPD before. I'm going to replace all the hoses anyway just thought that might be a better route. Thanks guys. BTW do EST still carry that unit don't see it on the site? Keep Calm Chive On
I have OEM OTE kit & I like it especially for the price (thanks sean ) but I didn't think they would still sell it as it was a recall because people in extreme cold climate could have problems with condensation freezing & causing your throttle body to not close fully... sorta like a Prius except we did it first back when it was cool Regardless I think you can still get some hoes but idk bout the pipe & we all know whats the point of hoes if your not gunna lay some pipe
gilber33
IPD it is then. I did my fmic for half the price of that. Just sayin. ;)

blazen244
I read that thread guys, is it as simple as it seems? I see that kit on ebay for like $135.00. Is that a better upgrade than the reverse kit and did you notice any gains from it? When you put in the FMIC did you remove the old one to save some weight? lengendsecko87
I removed my old one. Gains I got were better flow, more MPEG, lower intake temperatures, etc.And badassness looks.

The proper Kit from CXRACING 2.25 piping and the additional tid bits is apprx 230$ shipped. Much better than a Rip IMO. Although the fmic piping looks longer it's actually shorter than the stock intercooler piping and you can install the FMIC RIP STYLE Gains are quite noticeable. Quicker spool, less heat soak/fade , and it comes with silicone and t-bolts clamps(20+ Psi stable) You remove the old one, not necc for weight although that is a perk, but to mainly create a air pocket between the ac condenser and the radiator. This helps both do their hobs better, cooler coolant, cooler ac Also you don't have to worry about bottoming out on the stock one, if you install the fmic properly it won't pertrude past the subframe. Rip=Show Fmic= Show+Gains
Keep Calm Chive On
Rip=Show Fmic= Show+Gains Im going to disagree with that. Anything you do (for the most part) results in gains. The only thing is some are small. Everything works together. If you could put a RIP on a stock car & a tunes car you would see more benefit on a tuned car because there is a higher demand for lower intake temperatures, easier flow for less demand on the turbo. These are the things that a rip kit DOES offer. The overall length of a FMIC with the jerry rigged piping will possibly offer colder intake temperatures but the throttle response might be killed due to the excessive length of pipe. I would see it close to a wash (depending on route of FMIC Pipe & location & driving style.) The RIP kit cuts overall travel of the air and "drops" temperature. Where as the FMIC increases over all travel length of air and actually shows dropped temperature.
