Guest Radio_gift
I was hinting to my wife for the alpine cd changer for my original SC-811 in 95 850 turbo sedan, but instead she got me the ALPINE CDM-9823 and 4 new JBL speakers from cruthfield.,..she said the guy recommended this set up for 95 850 turbo sedan..does anyone know anything about this combination of receiver and speakers ..and how it work out in the 850I wanted a cd changer and the speakers were having a little problem and I think my SC-811 is still working ok.Is it worth replacing the whole set up with the ALPINE CDM-9823 and jbl speakers or I should just buy the ALpine cd changer from crutchfield or somewhere else..I wanted to replace the speakers with Infinity Reference or something that had been recommended on this site but I am not sure how good this set up is..How hard would it be to install the new cd receiver and speakers in the original place..i have never done this before..any help and opinion would be great.. theunderlord
JBL isn't as good as Infinity, but they're not bad.. you'll notice a nice improvement over stock, because of more power from your new Alpine HU. Installation is easy, see the pinned guide to installation in an 850 at the top of the Audio forum, that'll be very helpful to you.

Guest radio_gift
Thanks for all the input and replies..I am glad that the installation is not that complicated...but.After reading the replies and searching the audio area to see what size speakers people were using..I called crutchfield and asked them why did they recommend the 4" speakers. Crutchfield told me that 4" speaker is what fits my 95 850 turbo. They would not provide support for installation of a 5 1/4" speakers in my car and I would be on my own if I install a 5 1/4". I thought the original were 5 1/4" and I would easily be able to install a 5 1/4" such as infinity reference. I also read from the searches my orignal sc-811 is not that bad and speakers are the one that go bad. speakers that were recommended are:http://www.crutchfield.com/S-lGL3r4POseG/c...O426&search=jblThe cd receiver is:http://www.crutchfield.com/S-lGL3r4POseG/c...3&search=alpine

Guest Guest
depends on each car. some have fit the same 5.25" speaker with no problem and some have needed a little modification. look under mod section on volvospeed.
maiku
most 5.25 speakers will fit the front doorssome 5.25 have bigger depth, so it doesn't exactly fit, but most should
Guest Radio_gift
can someone post a link or some pictures of how install of a replacement 5 1/4" speaker or particularly infinity reference would look..I think I had see some pictures but not sure who has 5 1/4" infinity reference installed. I want to be sure that the infinity reference is a good drop in speakers and I don't have to do any mods to the door.. ..this before I return the 4" and get 5 1/4" for my 850. Hope that helps!5 1/4 Kappa Speakers
