Ipod Options

Ok, so I have a friend with a 2007 S60, and I just found out that the iPod interface Volvo used to sell has been discontinued.

I wanted to know what are the best aftermarket solutions for an iPod interface. I have heard people talk about iMiv, and I know USAspec has an interface, as well as blitzsafe.

anyone have any experience or recommendations?

USASpec is a good solution. Sound quality is nice, you still have controls from the steering wheel, like volume, and changing the track. Easy installation as well.

Hey, I'm new to the forums and thought I would throw my 2 cents in here. Another option is the unit from IPD, I have the adapter in 1 of my 850s and I love it. I know of a few people that have installed the unit into their newer (P2) cars and they love them as well. The sound quality is great and depending on which generation Ipod you have you can still use the controls on the Ipod itself.

I know the ipd unit calls for a cd changer, but is the cd changer needed for the sinple fact of changing the song with the head unit? I guess what im asking is do i need a cd changer for the ipd unit to work?

Nah, basically, the adapter mimics a CD changer, your radio will automatically recognize that there's a "cd changer" plugged in when you plug in the USASpec adapter.
