16T Wastegate & Cargo Cover

As soon as I swap this young 15G on I bought I'll have a 16T actuator available, I can keep in touch if you'd be interested? There's plenty of resistance when pulling on the arm and it performs as it should so I'm guessing the internal workings are top notch. Has roughly 180K on it.

Yeah that sounds good, I'm not really in any rush but just need one lined up for the near future. This is for the girls car, the actuator is rusted silly if I move it chances are it will brake the rod.

So your downgrading from a 16T to 15g? Or does this just have to do with actuators.

Cool, if you run across one in the meantime by all means go for it. Either way I'll keep you posted.

I'll be swapping the compressor/CHRA out of what's installed for the 15G's guts. The replacement only has ~40K miles on it and a while back after talking to Travis, another fellow LPT guy, I found he actually made better power it vs. the 16T. More than likely due to the 15G's flow specs, it pushes better in the midrange which will benefit my 2.4 since it's prime is in the mid RPM's. Whereas the 16T flows better in the upper RPM's and just a little less than the 15G in the midrange. At least that's my logic.

Being an LPT, I'd like the better power in the midrange since I do not often wind my motor out. If that makes sense...all that and the 15G's barely got any miles on it so it should last a good while. Price was extremely right as well.

Sounds like a good idea to me. LMK in a couple weeks where you are at. Thanks.

15G is where its at, glad to see Aaron is finally realizing that :D. My 15G ('00 LPT, with angled housing and R manifold) will hold until redline and pulls like a freight train in the midrange. Some say that ALL TD04 turbos fade up top, but I've never had any with this combo. May be the Woth tune too, very well written :). Anyway, Aaron, I think you'll be very happy with it ;).

As for the actuator, I have a 16T unit ready to ship now. Rod rotates 360° for some reason, but it holds excellent pressure and has good tention. Never had a problem with it, purchased from Spanky last spring (low mileage, even still shiny :)). PM if interested...

Thanks,

Joe
