i believe you mean an MERKUR XR4TI

I agree, if he meant a Capri its a bigger stretch front end wise.

I've always liked the SVO's, word on the street is a volvo head will free up some power. ;)

I like the early T-bird turbo coupes too the ones with separate low/high lights.

If he's comparing it to a regular fox Capri in any way, he definitely knows what he's talking about. :monkey:

The Folvo setups, as they're called, are good and certainly have that 'second kind of cool' going for them, but really for much less work a well-ported 8V Ford head actually does just as good if not better. However, if you combine the ported 8V head with a solid lifter conversion, it blows the Folvo out of the water. Granted, that route is more expensive, but it's also much more reliable. It's actually the route I plan to take when I can pay my cars some much needed attention again.

When I bought this car, I also purchased a (now sold) '87 TC. At first I disliked it, but it really had some neat engineering, given it's age. The SVO came from the factory with knob-adjustable Konis, but the TC actually had a dial on the dash that was connected to servos that sat on top of the shocks, so you could change the stiffness as you were driving. It really wasn't THAT bad of a car, but it was nothing compared to the SVO. It was of run of the mill mileage and not particularly well preserved. This SVO had the TMIC and ECU out of that TC.

Ah sweeet!! Been waiting a while to see your unicorn Adam  .

Buddy of mine had an xr4ti with a solid lifter head and bigger valves and such....it was set up to be a beast but he could never get megasquirt to run right with it and for one reason or another had to sell it. Definitely some cool old school stuff.

I prefer to think of it as more of a white buffalo.

The XRs were pretty good but I never really wanted one. I'm not putting them down, but to me the SVO was just a better looking car (if you actually like 80's cars) and was a better performer and more of a "driver's car" in stock form.

Couple more that I decided I liked:
