DouginDenver
99 C70. I removed the one bolt at the front and two sideways bolts by the AC comrpressor so the alternator is now loose. I also removed the three bolts holding the PS pump to allow it to lift a bit. Do I need to get the main red cable off the back before I can move it (I was hoping to get a bit more room)? But how does it actually come out? What all do I need to remove or loosen to give it clearance?
DouginDenver
As I look at it more, what is keeping it from coming out are the two parts of the casting that go behind the AC compressor - I can't lift it enough for those to clear. Do I need to drop the compressor too?
Ihatespeedbumps
You need to loosen the lower 2 a/c compressor bolts. Lift out from the top. I'll warn you, it's a bit tricky. Removing the upper radiator hose gives you a little more clearance.
Dan A
Yeah, loosen but not drop completely.
