kingbarley
is it really that surprising that a tuned newish STI can beat up on a tuned 13+ year old volvo? i absolutely love my 850R but i realize cars like those are on a different level
GltGreco
is it really that surprising that a tuned newish STI can beat up on a tuned 13+ year old volvo? i absolutely love my 850R but i realize cars like those are on a different level well its very exciting that a 13+yr old tuned volvo can beat a new STI and some tuned ones (remember that whole sleeper aspect of our cars ...its my favorite part) and i think its more of that when it comes to sti they have a much wider range of performance then us, many are running stock or close to it and a nicely modded volvo can take it....but theres also a lot more 500+ stis out there that will walk almost any of us so it depends what you come across, and when you have come across a lot of ones you can beat.....then one you cant its a little sad

laird
I live in "Cobb" ville and STI's area pretty easy picking.
dublin14
You just never know with any Turbo car these days. Theres lots of tuned STIs that will rape any Volvo stage 3 setup. The key is getting away from the dinky Volvo 18T& 19Ts and getting something that doesnt fall on its face up top. I couldnt wait to get rid of my 18T, but then again i like big Turbos that pull like a MF all the way to 8K

nolanator
don't feel bad about this. an STI will run mid 13's off of the showroom floor with a halfway decent driver behind the wheel. I have a heavily modified WRX now, but when i still had the factory EJ205 motor in it, my S70 was much faster in a straight line. Someone mentioned that they respond really well to bolt ons and a tune, which is very true. My first build consisted of an STI turbo (VF39) STI intercooler, uppipe, Walbro 255, and 650cc injectors. After a tune i was putting down 273whp/267wtq, which was a huge jump from my base run of 190whp/192wtq. The STI puts down 240/240 if you'd liketo use that as a reference point...symmetrical AWD doesn't hurt either.lol, you seem bitter well nice try, at least at the end of the day just think your married, ya still do it, and you dont drive a nubaru.
