thewhiteguy1
still getting misfire codes after replacing plugs and plug wires.. could it be that i need a new distributor/cap???? <_<
Fudge_Brownie
Yep, especially if you haven't replaced it in a while. A while being ~30k+ Otherwise, what did you gap your plugs at? And I'm assuming you're getting multiple misfires, not just on one cylinder.
Ihatespeedbumps
cap and rotor is probably a good idea. How many cylinders are misfiring? What brand plugs/wires did you use?
mrbrightside2009
yes my dist. cap/rotor had just 20k on them, had a misfire at high rpm, replaced them and all is good now, i noticed on my rotor it had burnt/black marks on the metal contacts. Fudge_Brownie
Wouldn't hurt to check the gap, but they are probably gapped fine. I'd bet it's the dist cap/rotor.
T5power
i agree. ignition systems on these cars are pretty easy to work with. all of your components are pretty much in front of you. if plugs and wires don't do it, it's generally cap and rotor. the coils don't commonly fail :)

B_Dub
I was getting misfires AFTER new cap/rotor, plugs, plugwires, and MSD coils installed... Couldn't figure it out at first but found it to be a bad cam sensor. But I bet your problem is solved with new cap& rotor.
