Driver Door Handle Lock Shave

Ok, so I see many have done it. I located some extra door handles, for 98-00 X70's. I can swap the rear handle trim to front handle pull, but doesn't seem to fit just right when closed- also haven't mounted in the car yet, but screw holes don't seem like they will align.

Will someone who has done this post a description, maybe with some pics? Also, do 98-00 handles swap right into 850's no problem?

thanks

Yup, bolt in swap for the 850. And again yes the front passenger door swaps into the drivers for that smooth look. I made the same mistake when I first did this on my 855. But the front door handles use a longer arm on the mechanism than the rears do.

I am sure it has been asked but how will you get in the car should the battery fail and the doors are locked?

Through the hatch and Climb over the back seats?

I had to do that twice on the old 93 Mustang Hatchback i had. the doors were slightly wonky and they froze shut. I think they needed the hinges replaced or something....

This.

Its also the backup plan I have for when the keyfob battery goes dead too :)

Seems like a fail plan...but so worth it for the cleanliness.

lol at this thread. A dime sized key hole is not going to detract from the look of your car. I've thought about the same thing but realized that when my fob dies...I'm SOL. So the idea was scrapped.

Yes but I has a wagon...so I have an "out". Cant see trying to crawl through the trunk being a great plan. lol

Not the biggest change ever...but ever so slight and still cleaner than a silver lock cylinder just hanging out there. Plus in my case swapping to v70 handles made my key not work in the door...so a smooth handle was cheaper than having the lock keyed.

I'm not even sure how that post above just happened...I need to go back to bed.

hahah, man going in the trunk sucks. Even with my gutted car. v70 front door handles, key doesn't work, I have no handles on my back doors. I open my trunk, lay in, reach for the rear door open metal arm, pull it, get out of the trunk, open my back door, unlock the front one, and get in. Its fcking pimp. Chicks dig it

i bet they get so wet just seeing you have to climb into the trunk to unlock your doors. probably the best turn on for a woman, besides the fact that you drive a volvo.

Thats when they know they are getting into a real mans, extremly safe car. Its definitly the green mirrors though, can't count how many hotties yell "I love your mirror" and I reply, "the other one is green too",
