Anyone Put 70 Series Rear Belts Into 850 Series?

Has anyone put the 70 series rear seat belts into a 850 series? I picked up a set of working 98 S70 rear belts and want to install them in my 95 for the ALR function. That is the one that allows you to use the child seat function and the belt doesn't slip.

I just want to see what you did for the locating pin the 70 series didn't have...

Anybody have anything like this?

Interesting. I know the front 850/x70 belts are not interchangeable. I'm not sure about the rear though.

Well for the most part the rears are the same. On the passenger side the retraction mechanism is on the inboard side compared to the outboard side of the 850 but the bolts all line up fine. The S70 just didn't have the locator pin the 850 has. That isn't stopping me from installing it, I was looking to see if anyone else has done this with any success.

Well you can put the fronts in if you are using the front seats as well ;) as for the rears the look to be the same and i know they will fit into the buckle.... so i would think that they will

I believe the 95 has a child seat locking mechanism on the buckle itself, doesn't it. On my '96 I can use a carseat by moving the red switch on the buckle in back which locks the buckle from moving/sliding? Or have I misunderstood?

My 95 doesn't have those but the S70 ones do. It is actually the tongue that has the switch on it from the S70 that allows it to hold the belt without moving. Your 96 850 has it? I am very curious about this as I was told the 850's did not come with this option and the S70 was the first...

The back seat tongue in my 96 wagon looks like this:

That is exactly what the S70 has... I am going to check the local yard for 96 850's to see what those seat belts look like... I was told only the x70's had those and not the 850's... I guess you learn something everyday! Thanks for the info.
