Read and clear codes no problem, just no clearing of the service light.

Will they work with an iPad, iPod touch, or an iPhone 4? I was thinking about removing my stereo and mounting an iPad hooked up to amps as a media center. It would be even better if it could be used to read my OBD II in my 96 as well...

so it reads and clears codes to boot eh? howz about dem volvo service lights? :P

You need another cheapy cable.... heres my info from another thread including the ebay link for Vol-FCR compatible cables

Cable: VAG-COM 409.1 USB (ebay)

Drivers: FTDI (link)

Software: Vol-FCR 1.3.6 (any should work)

NOTES: Even though the program isn't designed for USB, it works fine with the above combo as long as your COM port is set up correctly. I'm not sure what the policy is on talking about it, BUT you don't need to install any usb patches with the most popular (torrent) of fcr. Simply, if you go into Device Manager, and find the Virtual Serial Port (doing this from memory)...all you have to do is change the port to COM1 and turn the bits per second down. I just ended up turning it all the way down but ymmv. Works resetting the Service Light, and pulling/clearing codes. I didn't try the other functions yet.

Also, most of these cables come with a tiny cd-rom with a panda on it...i do not recommend inserting this into a slot loading drive haha, you won't get it out easily. I also have no idea what's on it...never bothered.

not sure if its legit, but: "To retrieve data from the car using AutoMobile software (including the FREE AutoMobile Code Reader), you will need an OBD adapter. AutoMobile works with OBDKey and ELM327-compatible Bluetooth adapters."

i ordered mine like a week and a half ago... still hasnt' showed up.... i really want it before i start cranking up the boost with my new setup

If you ordered from a China/Singapore/Hong Kong eBay vendor, you are looking at ~3 weeks for delivery...
